Moonwalking in Heaven: Is it up to par for the King of Pop?

A musical artist of the name Jovonni recently created a song called Moonwalking in Heaven  as a tribute to Michael Jackson. I have mixed reviews about it.

I appreciate Jovonni taking the time out to make a song in the name of Jackson. It is upbeat and positive in expression of his love for Jackson as an icon. I think it was wise of him to use an upbeat musical sound rather than a sad one. Whether there is something better after death or nothing at all, it is good that he focused on Jackson being a sensational and kind person.

Jovonni states the song came from the heart, so it does not matter whether people dislike the piece or not.

Yes, I like the lyrics and the mood of the song, but I do not enjoy the vocals or the musical sounds. It sounds too computerized for me. I rather it had been actual live instrumental sound.

I feel it would have been better to have used live instrumental sounds such as trumpets, drums or guitars because it would be symbolically going back to Jackson’s earlier days. However, for the ending I did enjoy hearing the musical sound slowly fading away. I could imagine Jackson moonwalking to that in heaven slowly, just as he walked on the sidewalk in the music video “Billie Jean” where the sidewalk glowed underneath him.  Throughout the years of his life he definitely left a glow on earth with every step he took on this earth. I am not going to tell you what to think about the song. Take a listen for yourself! Hope you enjoy it!
